Civil Air Patrol Cadet Awarded Four-Year Naval ROTC Scholarship

Civil Air Patrol Cadet (CAP) Cadet 2d Lt. Anna C. Martin has been awarded a prestigious full-ride Naval ROTC scholarship to Texas A&M where she will join the famed Corps of Cadets and study meteorology. Upon graduation Cadet Martin will receive her commission and enter the US Navy as an officer.

Local Civil Air Patrol College Student Receives Prestigious Awards

Lexington’s Civil Air Patrol (CAP) Cadet 1st Lt. Aidan J. Mills received the Billy Mitchell Award recognizing Mill’s leadership and educational efforts throughout the COVID pandemic. Mills was also awarded the Air Force Sergeants' Association Award to Outstanding Cadet NCOs for distinguished leadership, perseverance, determination and dedication to positive character.

CAP Cadets Earn Prestigious Awards

Two Lexington Civil Air Patrol (CAP) cadets received the esteemed Billy Mitchell Award during the 2020 COVID pandemic lock down. The award is given in recognition for sustained excellence in all four areas of cadet life: leadership, aerospace, fitness, and character. Only 15% of Civil Air Patrol cadets achieve this distinguished award.

Civil Air Patrol ignites local youth’s dream of flying 

LEXINGTON, Ky. –  On a crisp, bright day, Daniel Cornett, age 16, took his first flight through Civil Air Patrol’s (CAP) Cadet Program (12-18 year olds). Cornett’s smile beamed wide across his face as he walked into WestLEX Aviation for the first time. He didn’t know what to expect because he had always thought of himself being at the yoke of an airplane as a sort of dream, something that was far off into his future, not here and certainly not now.
